The Springs at Simpsonville’s September Resident of the Month is Ms. Mary! Ms. Mary is originally from Clearwater, South Carolina, but moved to Liberty which is where she finished high school.
Mary met her husband Charles during high school, and they were married before they moved to Mauldin to start a family. Charles and Mary have two twin sons—Darrell and Farrell! She used to love her son, Farrell’s dog, named Jazz, and to go and visit her sisters, Syble and Jean. Mary is most proud of taking care of her children and husband, being a Christian and knowing her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and raising her two sons.
Her son Darrell says, “My mother has always given unselfishly to others and her family.” Her favorite things to do in her free time were traveling, working in the yard, and cooking for her family. Mary has been a resident at The Springs for six months! Her favorite thing is how The Springs staff and fellow residents make her feel like family. She also thinks the food is great, which was a very important thing for her and her love of cooking!
We asked Mary what she will remember forever about her whole life and she state, “I will always remember how I started out with nothing, but I worked hard and had a nice life and wonderful family. I feel like the Lord has really blessed me in my life.” Her one piece of advice was to trust in God and never give up! Thank you, Mary, for sharing your warm heart and encouraging words with all of us at The Springs. We are so grateful you are a part of The Springs at Simpsonville family!
