Alexis Powers – Employee of the Month

The Springs at Simpsonville’s Employee of the Month for June is Alexis Powers! Alexis has been a caregiver and MedTech at The Springs for almost a year now, and we are thrilled she joined our team!

Alexis is from Laurens, South Carolina, and attended both Clinton High School and Laurens High School. She has two sons, Zy’keir who is three years old and Ardarreyus who is five months old. She has been dating her boyfriend, AJ, for two years now and loves spending time with her family. In her free time, Alexis loves shopping and getting her hair and nails done. Another thing she loves to do is take her boys to the zoo and go out to eat at her favorite restaurant, Logan’s Roadhouse.

Alexis decided to go into this field almost a year ago. Alexis found her inspiration from her grandmother, who used to work in assisted living. Once her grandmother retired, Alexis started taking care of her and found herself in the caregiver role. She enjoyed it so much she decided to make a profession out of it!

Alexis’ favorite thing about working at The Springs at Simpsonville is the residents. She loves hearing their stories from the past; her favorite is Mrs. Betty G’s advice about life. When Alexis was pregnant, even before she announced it, Mrs. Betty says she knew. Mrs. Betty said, “I could tell by the way she walked!” Alexis says the best thing she has learned from working at The Springs is that many of the residents wish they did more with their life. They encourage her every day to live her life to the fullest!

Her coworker, Danette, said, “Alexis is very responsible, reliable, always willing to jump in, and never complains. She is an excellent team player, great with the residents, and overall, a fantastic employee that we are very fortunate to have!” Congratulations Alexis, we are so glad to have you on our team!
