Kelly Turner – Employee of the Month

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The Springs at Simpsonville’s November 2019 employee of the month is our dedicated and caring handyman, Kelly Turner!

Kelly is originally from Simpsonville, SC, but has also lived nearby in Mauldin and currently resides in Fountain Inn, just down the road from The Springs at Simpsonville. He graduated from Mauldin High School in 1984.

Kelly has been married to his wife Angela for 30 years and they have two daughters, Brittney and Ashlyn. He is most proud of his two grandchildren, Jordan and Jackson, and on the rare occasion he is not at The Springs, he enjoys babysitting and spending time with them.

Kelly has been a staple around The Springs at Simpsonville for the past 5 years. His mother, Wanda, used to work in housekeeping at the community, and she was the one who told him that they were looking for someone to help with moving furniture, fixing and repairing things, and all the things that Kelly was already skilled at doing in his own home! He was happy to apply for the job and has been here ever since.

As for most of our employees, Kelly’s favorite thing about working at the Springs is the residents. He loves getting to help them and spending time getting to know them and their individual stories. He says that they are always teaching him valuable lessons about the important things in life, and he is grateful to learn from their wisdom.

When we asked if there was one favorite story from his time at The Springs at Simpsonville, he laughed and said, “I feel like most of the funniest ones are too inappropriate to share but residents always keep me smiling! Lately, more and more of them have been giving me a hug when they see me around and it just makes me so happy.”

We are so grateful for Kelly’s expertise and compassion as he helps residents fix and repair things around their home. We appreciate all the hard work and dedication you put into making The Springs at Simpsonville a better, brighter community! Congratulations Kelly!
