Neil Stone – January Employee of the Month
For Neil Stone, life was not supposed to get back to normal, which makes this award and the praise from his coworkers all the more meaningful to anyone who has rooted for him.
“Neil has worked so hard at The Springs. He is very dedicated to his memory care residents and takes pride in his job. He has come up with new ideas for our residents who have dementia. He has incorporated music therapy in the activities. He spends time at home looking for new activities to help improve our memory care residents’ quality of life. We appreciate all does for our Springs family.”
– Katie Crotchett, Resident Care Director
After suffering a traumatic brain injury in a car accident, he struggled for a time to overcome the injury and get back to life as he knew it. MTV even included Neil’s struggle in a show entitled True Life: I have a traumatic brain injury.
But Neil — ever the Eagle Scout — forged ahead until the day when those challenges suddenly began to disappear. Today Neil is an engagement director in our memory care neighborhood, our January caregiver of the month, and one heck of a survivor. Of course if you ask him, it’s all just business as usual.
