Meet Lew Hollander – the oldest Ironman competitor in the world. Three years ago at the age of 82, he broke the Guinness Book of World Records mark for oldest Ironman, and he moves that mark further back with each competition. Today he is prepping for his 59th Ironman race.
Lew didn’t even begin competing in Ironman competitions until age 55, when he found himself hungry for new challenges after retiring.
“Use it or lose it,” is the classic Hollander approach. At the Springs, we agree! That’s why we keep our residents busy with tons of daily and weekly activities.
